The telling of this moment and the memory between are so smooth. I could see it all play out effortlessly. I am sorry for you and for your mom. You are such a good daughter. I hope you are able to bring her into a better living arrangement soon! I love the last line expressing your wanting to look at the moon but forgetting to look up. So, poignant! It's the perfect emotional sentence to end this piece on.
This is beautiful, personal writing Ms.M., the very best kind. I felt privileged, like I was allowed to read your diary entry. As you may recall, I too am working through eldercare experiences. I looked up Strawberry Moon meaning: 'You are at a time where you will be facing the truth in a significant partnership.' is what the website said. Sounds right eh?
Thanks for sharing this Kathryn. It must be so difficult. ♥️ I understand that feeling of losing one’s mind and feeling less smart. It was challenging to watch my dad try to do the things he most liked to do, including reading. Watching him read the newspaper was heartbreaking, but he wanted the paper every morning, and I brought it to him. He held it open for an hour.

Oh wow that is neat to know the meaning. I hope you and your wife are taking good care of yourselves too. It is not an easy path.
